Tamara earned a BFA in Theatre Performance from York University.  She began her acting career at The Stratford Festival of Canada working in the young company for two years under the direction of Richard Rose before going on to perform roles in the main company.  Her career as a performer has spanned 23 years and includes working for theaters here in Toronto (Tarragon, Neccesary Angel, Nightwood and Canadian Stage) and across the country (The National Arts Center and Theatre Calgary) as well as playing a lead role on Broadway in the musical Mamma Mia!   She lived and worked in NYC and LA before returning to Toronto in 2009.  She was the Artistic Producer and a Founding Artist of Theatre 20 from it’s inception in May 2009 to July 2013.  She played the role of Rose Narracott in the Mirvish / National Theatre production of War Horse at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto. Tamara has also written a musical play entitled Beholden which was workshopped for the FUSE 2009 series at Theatre Calgary. She was invited to serve on the Dora Awards committee in 2014 / 15.  She then participated in the acclaimed Directors Lab North.

She joined Tarragon Theatre as Assistant Artistic Director in August of 2015 and directed a mainstage production of Midsummer in 2017.

She served a 3-year term as Artistic Director at Randolph College for the Performing Arts before returning to Tarragon as Interim Assistant Artistic Director.

Tamara will be directing part of the 2020 Launchpad series for the Musical Stage Company in September and has also launched a new company geared towards nurturing and producing new Canadian-written TV series.
