Hazelton grew up in Calgary Alberta, where she was lucky enough to study improv and acting at the famed Loose Moose Theatre Co., under world renowned Keith Johnstone and Dennis Cahill.
After high school, she attended the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC, after which she relocated to Toronto to begin her career as a performer.
Terra was soon to be discovered by the late, great Jeff Healey. Honoured to have been the vocalist in his band, the Jazz Wizards, for 6 years, Terra’s debut album (produced by and featuring Healey) was released in 2004. Following in Jeff’s footsteps, Terra became a radio host at JazzFM91. Hosting her own show called ‘Timeless’.
In 2009 she released a sophomore album “Gimme Whatcha Got”, produced by John Sheard (whom she met while being a musical guest on the 2007 Fall Tour of Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Cafe)
In 2009 Hazelton was cast in Canadian Cult Film “FUBAR 2” for which she received a Genie nomination (now Canadian Screen Award) for Best Supporting Actress.
Terra’s most recent studio album is a Trio album called “That’s All” featuring Nathan Hiltz and Jordan O’Connor. Live off the floor this album is an honest and real snapshot of the trio’s sound.
Hazelton can also be seen in a web series called “Whatever Linda”, for which she was nominated for her 2nd Canadian Screen award. She can also be seen in her recurring role on a hit TV series ‘Orphan Black’featuring Emmy Award Winning Tatiana Maslany.
Terra’s newest musical project is ‘PERLHAZE’ the dynamic duo comprised of herself and acclaimed vocalist Sophia Perlman. The duo plan to record their debut album in the near future.
Exciting news for fall of 2017, Terra will be appearing in a new VICE tv series ‘Fubar’ set to start airing in November.
