Festivals
| Tarragon hosts or collaborates on a number of festivals throughout the year that focus on the development of theatre practitioners, audiences and new work. Each event is either free or pay-what-you-can in order to ensure accessibility. This is an initiative in collaboration with the SummerWorks Theatre Festival that enables alumni of our youth programs to participate in a major theatre festival. Each year three young writers (often from our youth writing programs) are invited to have their work read in the festival. A group of young actors from the Spring Training Project form the company that read the works and 3 directors from the SummerWorks Theatre Festival guide the play-readings. In addition to developing the writers and performers who contribute to the series, Tarragon Theatre provides rehearsal space and administrative support. All participants receive a festival pass.
