in the Workspace
For her next writing foray actor/writer Melody Johnson has been inspired by the writings of humorist/journalist Erma Bombeck, (The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank, If Life’s a Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing Stuck in the Pits?), and the work of writer Nora Ephron, (When Harry Met Sally, Love, Loss and What I Wore) for her piece entitled Bellyacher.
Melody is known to Tarragon audiences for her Dora winning role as the titular character of Mercy in Little Mercy’s First Murder, It’ s All True, Well, The Vibrator Play, and Mimi, co created with Rick Roberts and her composer/husband Allen Cole. Melody is also the writer of Miss Caledonia which launched from the Tarragon Extra Space in 2012 to theatres across Canada and most recently an exciting five week tour of the rural United Kingdom.
This event will run for 1h from 2:30pm – 3:30pm.
Bellyacher is a monologue in which you can expect some light, humorous, and occasional darkly domestic observances of home front challenges. Warning: There will be absolutely no guns, smoke, or strobe lights.
