Welcome to Tarragon! We are grateful for your presence, and excited to share in this theatre experience with you. Here are some useful tips you may wish to know before you visit the theatre. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 416-531-1827 or email@example.com.
We are located on the Northwest corner of Bridgman Avenue and Howland Avenue. If you are arriving by TTC to Dupont Station, walk West on Dupont about 2 blocks to Howland, and then one block North. If you are arriving to Bathurst Station, walk North about 10 minutes to Bridgman, and then East 1 block to Howland. There are areas to lock up bikes on the sidewalk directly outside the theatre. There is also a Toronto Bike Share lot located just West of the theatre on Bridgman at Dupont.
If you are driving to the theatre we recommend parking in the UnitPark lot on the Southeast side of Bridgman and Howland. There is a $5 evening flat rate. You can also pre-purchase your parking online here. Once you have registered your license plate you do not need to print or display anything for your dashboard; the licence plate will be on file with the parking company.
Tarragon has three performance spaces: the Mainspace, the Extraspace and the Workspace. When you enter in the main doors, the Box Office to pick up your tickets is directly to the left. The Mainspace is directly in front of the main doors, and the Extraspace is to your right. The Workspace is up the stairs past the bar, turn left, and then turn left again. We have a small lobby, so you may see a line-up formed with patrons waiting to take their seats in the theatre. General admission begins one half hour before showtime.
The women’s washroom is located on the main floor, just past the bar. The men’s washroom is located past the bar, up the stairs, and directly to the right. There is an all gender restroom, as well as an accessible/family washroom, both located on the second floor, off of the studio lobby. There is an elevator located around the corner from the bar.
We have a small bar located on the north side of the lobby, beside the entrance to the Extraspace. The bar has a selection of wine, beer, and liquor, as well as some light snacks and desserts. We recommend arriving a bit earlier than you might normally if you wish to purchase a drink or snack, as a small line often forms. And yes – you are able to bring your drink into the theatre! We also have a newly installed water fountain as part of our initiative to reduce single use plastics. A reusable Tarragon branded water bottle is available for purchase at the theatre.
What to Expect
When you arrive, you will first visit our Box Office to pick up your ticket. Our Patron Services team will direct you to the theatre space where your show is taking place, and one of our great volunteers will take your ticket upon entry to the theatre. Our Mainspace Theatre has assigned seating, simply find the appropriate seat location and make yourself comfortable. Our Extraspace Theatre is General Admission, meaning you will then have the option of sitting wherever you want in the theatre. You will receive a program from the volunteer with information on the show, biographies of each actor and creative team member, and upcoming productions at Tarragon. Many Tarragon productions do not have an intermission, so if you need to use the washroom, or wish to purchase a drink or snack from the bar, we recommend doing so before the show. Please note that eating during the production is not permitted, but you are welcome to bring your drink into the theatre.
If you are in the Mainspace, when the production is over you have the option of leaving out the main door you came in, or out the side door which takes you directly to Bridgman avenue. In the Extraspace you will exit out the main door. Note that on some evenings we have performances in both spaces, so we ask that patrons remain quiet in the lobby when leaving if a production is still happening in the other space.
Typically the bar is not open after shows, with the exception of Friday evenings. On Select Friday evenings after the production the bar remains open with $5 drink specials. The last Friday of each month is our Tarragon Tasting Night. We also have one week of post-show Talkbacks with the actors & creative teams for each show. More information about these ‘Beyond the Stage ‘programs can be found here.

Content, Themes & Age Appropriateness
At Tarragon Theatre we produce new contemporary plays, and many of our productions contain themes and language that may not be appropriate for all ages. We are also conscious that there are some topics or themes that may be particularly distressing to some individuals, regardless of age. If there are certain themes that you know would cause you extreme distress, or if you would like to discuss the age appropriateness of a specific production, our Patron Services team is available to provide more detailed information about our shows’ content at 416-531-1827 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
