WorkSpace
WorkSpace is both a place — an intimate performance venue located in the Near Studio — and a philosophy. In an effort to nurture new play development, Tarragon offers artists several weeks to workshop a play before presenting it, in its primary phases, to a small audience. WorkSpace not only helps to prepare plays for full production, but serves as an opportunity to reconnect with Tarragon’s more experimental roots — to “play” — and to investigate innovative new works.
Upcoming WorkSpace Performances
This is War
Coming up this January: Check out the latest from Tarragon's celebrated playwright-in-residence, This Is War by Hannah Moscovitch.
It is 2008. Canadian Forces are holding Panjwaii, the most volatile region of Afghanistan, with very little support from NATO-ISAF. Captain Stephen Hughes' top priority is the safety of his soldiers, but what begins as a minor indiscretion on his part spells danger for his team. Stationed in a forward operating base in the Panjwaii Valley, he's always looking for the next threat, knowing it can come any time from any direction. He just didn't expect it would come from him.
Public readings, directed by Richard Rose, of This Is War star Ari Cohen,
Sergio Di Zio, Ian Lake and Sarah McVie and take place on:
Friday, January 20 @ 8 pm
