WorkSpace
WorkSpace is both a place — an intimate performance venue located in the Near Studio — and a philosophy. In an effort to nurture new play development, Tarragon offers artists several weeks to workshop a play before presenting it, in its primary phases, to a small audience. WorkSpace not only helps to prepare plays for full production, but serves as an opportunity to reconnect with Tarragon’s more experimental roots — to “play” — and to investigate innovative new works.
Upcoming WorkSpace Performances
Decalogue 2
by Andre Alexisdirected by Richard Rose
starring Walter Borden, Oliver Dennis, Dean Gilmour, Eric Goulem and Richard McMillan
Set in a monastery where the monks have taken a vow of silence, Decalogue 2 takes the Second Commandment, "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain" as its inspiration. One monk, in a fit of rage, breaks not only his vow but the commandment and utters the name of the Lord. His curse throws the peaceful close-knit community into upheaval that tests the bonds of brotherhood and the limits of faith.
Performances run on Friday May 14, Saturday May 15, Friday May 21 and Saturday May 22, 2010.
All performances are at 8 pm and take place in the Tarragon Near Studio
Tickets are PWYC with a suggested minimum of $10.
No Reservations.
