A Priest, A Minister and A Rabbi Walk Into A Theatre…

Toronto’s award winning SOULO Theatre brings together clergy from 3 different religions on stage for the first time.

THE CLERGY PROJECT

“The Clergy Project isn’t just about their roles as priest, minister and rabbi – it’s about their humanity.”  –Life With More Cowbell

“A most scintillating experience in the theatre – presenting the lives of three extraordinary people, bathed in compassion and love.”  -South Asian Observer

– ONE NIGHT ONLY! MARCH 18th –  A FUNDRAISER –

Award-winning theatre director Tracey Erin Smith brings together three of Toronto’s prominent religious leaders to create The Clergy Project, an original show about being a faith leader in 2019 and life behind and beyond the cloak.

The event begins with the three clergy entering in their respective vestments, sharing the stage, posing their internal questions…

Priest – What would Jesus do?

Rabbi – What would Moses do?

Minister – What would Sartre do?

Setting the tone for what’s to come, it’s a reminder that these three members of the clergy are not only defined by their roles, they’re people!

Father Daniel, Reverend Shawn and Rabbi Elyse share moving, entertaining and shocking stories of how they were called to ministry and the challenges they faced within their congregations, as well as life-changing moments of service.

Told with candour, humour and compassion, they are frank about their personal joys and struggles in faith, some unusual circumstances where they just had to wing it – and even bend the rules.  Living lives of service and community, they are aware that tradition has room for change.

And they are funny with much in common: faith, hope and a drive to serve their community.

Come experience what they have seen from their front row seat of people’s lives.
