Tarragon Theatre is pleased to announce that Susan Moffat has been appointed Managing Director. Susan has served two terms as the Interim General Manager at Tarragon, and the organization is thrilled to have her join in a more permanent capacity.
Susan’s career as a respected arts administrator has included positions as the General Manager at Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton, AB and at the Blyth Festival in Blyth ON, as well as 13 years with ACTRA (the Canadian labour union representing performers in recorded media). She has also served on the Board of Directors of Performing Arts Lodge Stratford. Susan recently completed her Paralegal licensing through the Law Society of Upper Canada, and currently serves as the President of the United Way Perth-Huron.
“We are thrilled Susan has agreed to this position, and are so lucky to have her bring her wealth of experience and devotion to the theatre into the role on a permanent basis” says Steven Garmaise, President of Tarragon Theatre’s Board of Directors.
“Susan Moffat has twice acted as our Interim General Manager and rather selflessly so. Her contributions to the Tarragon have kept the theatre whole in times of transition” says Richard Rose, Tarragon’s Artistic Director. “It became apparent that she has a depth of knowledge about the company and our production process, knows solutions to our problems, and has been a significant contributor to recent successes. Her transition into the permanent position of Managing Director makes sense. I am grateful and excited she has accepted this position.”
