When planning a trip to Tarragon for a Wednesday matinee performance, consider spending the whole day with us. Professional theatre artists will lead your students in a morning workshop, exploring themes specific to the show you will see that afternoon.

Can’t make it to the Tarragon? As an alternative option, our professional artists can visit your school prior to a performance and lead your students in a workshop specific to the play they will be attending. We offer workshops in playwriting, directing, text analysis, performance, improv, voice, movement, theatre design, character creation, audition technique, scene study, or we can develop a workshop according to your needs.
COST: Workshops are $11 per student for a group of 20 or more for a two-hour session. Please call for a quote if your group is less than 20.
Completed Workshops from the 2014/15 Season
Our first student workshop, co-facilitated with National Arts Centre actor, Tawiah Ben M’Carthy, focused on water issues and will contribute to the archive of water stories being collected by Lake Ontario Waterkeeper.
The second student workshop focused on developing theatre skills and the youth worked on a scene from Kate Cayley’s The Bakelite Masterpiece. The participants were able to view the Vermeer ‘forgeries’ that had been painted on opening night and discuss the historical conditions at the end of the war in the Netherlands.
Workshops for Infinity focused on notions of time explored through writing and movement facilitated by choreographer and dancer, Emma Kerson.
Workshops for Much Ado About Nothing familiarized students with the text through multi modal activities and scene work facilitated by Ash Knight.
