The Scarborough Playwrights Hub was the beginning of a six month journey (with Tarragon Theatre) that helped me to discover my creative voice. Through weekly/biweekly workshops with Scarborough Arts staff and established playwrights such as Kat Sandler and Geoffrey Simon Brown, I was exposed to the world of playwriting for the first time in my life, and was able to construct a complete, coherent script by the end of the program. The entire experience was absolutely surreal. As an aspiring young writer, this was an incredible opportunity which exposed me to the life I want to create for myself. Scarborough Arts and Tarragon Theatre gave young artists like myself and my colleagues a welcoming space to build on our skills and bring our work to life. – Past Participant
