Martin Julien is a performer and writer with forty years of experience in Canadian theatre and media. He has received three Dora Mavor Moore nominations for Best Performer and has been named as a NOW Magazine (Toronto) number-one rated theatre artist of the year. Recent productions include Under the Stairs (YPT), Lysistrata and the Temple of Gaia (Odyssey), Sir John A: Acts of a Gentrified Ojibway Rebellion (NAC), This Is How We Got Here (SummerWorks) and The Heart of Robin Hood (Mirvish).
He was awarded a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from the University of Toronto in 2019, where he was a SSHRC Doctoral Fellow.
Martin was an Associate Artist with the Caravan Farm Theatre in Armstrong, B.C. for fifteen years, working as performer/playwright in eleven mainstage productions. Currently, he is acting opposite Bradley Cooper in Gullermo del Toro’s new feature film Nightmare Alley.
