Scotiabank Student Ticket Program
supported by sbRM_red

Tarragon offers student matinees at the low price of $14/student, and a complimentary chaperone ticket for every 20 student tickets booked.

All of our student matinee performances are on Wednesdays at 1:30pm and include a post-show talkback with members of the cast and creative team. Our Education and Community Engagement Manager would be happy to discuss how theatre provides experiences which can serve as effective avenues for approaching a variety of curriculum areas. We would also be happy to reserve complimentary tickets to a preview performance, subject to availability, for teachers to become familiar with the production in advance of their class visit.

Please note our plays deal with mature subject matter, and we look forward to discussing the content of each play with you prior to the performance.

“I’d like to start off by thanking you for inviting our school to come and see such an amazing performance (Much Ado About Nothing, 2015). I could honestly say that it was the greatest performance that I have ever seen in my entire life. When I heard that our trip was to go watch a performance that was based on a Shakespeare play, I was definitely not happy. The bus ride to Tarragon Theatre consisted of me whining and complaining about the performance we had to see. Shakespeare and I don’t mix well. When we went inside and took our seats, I hated it even more. The set that was set up on stage was really simple which got me thinking that it was a waste to pay $20 just to see this performance. However, then came out a bunch of Indian girls who started doing Bharathanatyam (which I take lessons in as well) and suddenly things seemed not to be that bad. As the play went on, it kept getting better and better. By the end of the play, all I could think of was how I would pay hundreds of dollars to come and watch that astonishing performance again”.
