Tamara Bernier Evans
Tamara is best known for her portrayal of Tanya in Mamma Mia! on Broadway, in Las Vegas and in Toronto. She played Rose Narracott in the Mirvish/National Theatre production of War Horse. She played lead roles over four seasons at The Stratford Festival of Canada and performed in the world premieres of Mimi (Tarragon Theatre); Seven Lears, It’s All True (Necessary Angel); and Anything That Moves (Nightwood Theatre). At Canadian Stage she played Claire in Proof and also performed in the musical Outrageous. She played Maggie in the jazz opera The Wrong Son at The National Arts Center in Ottawa and at Theatre Calgary she played Christine Colgate in the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. In 2009, Tamara became the Artistic Producer of Theatre 20 (an artist-led musical theatre company) where she served for three years before becoming the Assistant Artistic Director at Tarragon Theatre (where she directed Midsummer for the mainstage). She was the AD at Randolph College for the Performing Arts until 2019 before returning to Tarragon to complete her internship as Assistant Artistic Director. She is currently the head of creative development at Awen Entertainment Ltd., a TV production company.
