Content, Themes & Age Appropriateness

At Tarragon Theatre we produce new contemporary plays, and many of our productions contain themes and language that may not be appropriate for all ages. We are also conscious that there are some topics or themes that may be particularly distressing to some individuals, regardless of age. If there are certain themes that you know would cause you extreme distress, or if you would like to discuss the age appropriateness of a specific production, our Patron Services team is available to provide more detailed information about our shows’ content at 416-531-1827 or [email protected].

Accessibility

Tarragon Theatre is committed to extending a high level of customer service to all of its patrons. We are dedicated to demonstrating leadership by working constructively with our patrons, staff, volunteers, and community to meet and exceed the requirements which will identify, prevent, and remove barriers so a fulfilling theatrical experience can be enjoyed by patrons with disabilities in our building.

To this end, we will work hard to ensure that we meet and surpass our patrons’ needs to the best of our ability. If you feel that there is a way that we can better accommodate your needs, please do not hesitate to contact Natasha Parsons (Director of Patron Services) by phone or email for further assistance. We also are happy to offer a free companion ticket to those living with a disability who require assistance to use our space. We’ve formalized this policy by becoming an Access2 Venue. To book one of these tickets please call our box office at the number below.

I’d like to start off by thanking you for inviting our school to come and see such an amazing performance (Much Ado About Nothing, 2015). I could honestly say that it was the greatest performance that I have ever seen in my entire life. When I heard that our trip was to go watch a performance that was based on a Shakespeare play, I was definitely not happy. The bus ride to Tarragon Theatre consisted of me whining and complaining about the performance we had to see. Shakespeare and I don’t mix well. When we went inside and took our seats, I hated it even more. The set that was set up on stage was really simple which got me thinking that it was a waste to pay $20 just to see this performance. However, then came out a bunch of Indian girls who started doing Bharathanatyam (which I take lessons in as well) and suddenly things seemed not to be that bad. As the play went on, it kept getting better and better. By the end of the play, all I could think of was how I would pay hundreds of dollars to come and watch that astonishing performance again
